Laura Eliza Kimbler Quillin

Laura Quillin, 92, Gate City, Va.

GATE CITY, Va. – Laura Quillin, 92, entered into rest Friday (June 8, 2007) at Indian Path Medical Center.

She was born in Scott County, Va. on May 28, 1915 to the late Grover Cleveland Kimbler and Maggie Fleenor Kimbler.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Vivian Quillin, Sr.; daughter, Ruby Madeline Kendrick; sons, Larry James Quillin, Gerald W. Quillin and Glen Allen Quillin; sister, Alice LaForce; and brother, Charlie Kimbler.

Survivors include one daughter, Shelby Quillin Kitchen, Sayreville, N.J.; son, C.V. Quillin, Jr., Gate City, Va.; grandchildren, Tammy and Charles Delph, Robin and Gary Gruenewald, Gerry Quillin, Barbara Gallaher, Teresa McMillan, Debbie Burton, Peggy McNish, Dale Kendrick, Sandy Grills, Tina England, Glenda Quillin and Michele Quillin; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and five special great-grandchildren, Amanda Sturgill, Cody Ramey, Samantha, Matt and Jacob Gruenewald.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Tammy and Charles Delph.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wrightly Salling officiating.

Music will be provided by The Lee Smith Singers.

Burial will follow the service at the Quillin Cemetery, Alley Valley Community.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Burton, Dale Wayne Kendrick, Gerry Quillin, Gary Gruenewald, Charles Delph and Jeff Thacker.
